  7. exclusion from the Establishment press, "Izzy" Stone pored over

  9. had missed. In his later years he taught himself classical
  10. Greek, using the knowledge to land "one last scoop": The Trial
  11. of Socrates, a 1988 book in which Stone portrayed the
  12. philosopher as an elitist whose contempt for average Athenians
  13. compelled them to execute him.
